Doctor
Dr. Stephen C Steep Dr. Steep is a 1977 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has extensive experience in companion animal general medicine and surgery.
Dr. Steep is a member of numerous professional associations including the American Veterinary Medical Association, Southeast Veterinary Medical Assocation, and the American Animal Hospital Association. Active in the Michigan Veterinary Associaiton, Dr. Steep is the former chair person of the MVMA Veterinary Informatics Committee and Emergency Preparedness Committee. Currently he is the president elect of the MVMA.
He is also an instructor in the Veterinary Technician program at Macomb Community College. His classes include Small Animal Diseases and Clinical Pathology II Lecture. |  View |
Dr. Susan F Soderberg , dip ACVIM Dr. Soderberg is also a 1977 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Drs. Steep and Soderberg were classmates and lab partners in veterinary school and have been partners in practice for over 20 years. Upon graduation, Dr. Soderberg did post graduate study at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She acheived the status of Board Certified Specialist in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine after years of rigorous study and examination. She was one of the first "boarded specialists" in the Southeast Michigan area when she joined Dr. Steep in practice over 20 years ago.
Dr. Soderberg's diagnostic skills are renowned as she accepts numerous referral cases for consultation, endoscopy, ultrasonography, bronchoscopy, internal medicine, and reproduction.
Active in organized veterinary medicine, Dr. Soderberg is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, Southeast Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and the American Animal Hospital Association. |  View |
Dr. Meghan Carboni Dr. Carboni has been practicing veterinary medicine on the east side since her graduation from Michigan State University in 1979. She has distinguished herself by working at two other exceptional clinics before settling at the East Detroit Animal Hospital. A loyal following of clients have kept pace with her and rely on her experience and expertise. Busy raising three children, Dr. Carboni still maintains a full medical/surgical caseload and furthers her education with a special interest in behavioral medicine. She manages cases ranging from separation anxiety to inappropriate elimination. She especially enjoys helping families get off to a good start behaviorally with their new puppies. Dr. Carboni is a member of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and is a guest lecturer on behavioral topics for the Macomb Community College veterinary technician program.

Dr. Patricia M Bigwood Dr. Bigwood is a 1992 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Although she enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine, her main areas of interest are surgery and alternative therapies.
Dr. Bigwood has experience in private practice, emergency medicine, and shelter medicine. She gained extensive surgical experience in her years at the Michigan Humane Society. In addition, she has attended several post-graduate surgical training courses and is certified in Small Animal Veterinary Acupuncture.
Dr. Bigwood is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Holistic Veterinary Association. She is also a guest lecturer on alternative therapies for the veterinary technician program at Wayne County Community College.
A recent marriage has brought Dr. Bigwood to the Eastside and the East Detroit Animal Hospital.
Management
Scott Billock The man behind the scenes, Scott is responsible for important management tasks in the hospital operation. In charge of budgeting, receivables, and payables; Scott's budgeting and planning skill has allowed the hospital to acquire new equipment and prepare for the future. |  View |
Angie Knirk , LVT As senior technician, Angie assumes the dual role of staff tech and purchasing officer. Angie does an excellent job of maintaining the hospital inventory of medical and surgical supplies. She meets with representatives from veterinary pharmaceutical companies and serves as a conduit for information to the doctors. She will help you with your pet's special needs regarding medications and diets. |  View |
